FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you a breeder?

No we have a (male) stud dog. Breeders usually have female dogs, but some have both.

Do you have dogs for sale?

Not really, but there is a chance that we could get one as our pick of the litter after studding the dog. As such we do keep a short list of people that are interested. We recommend that if you really need a dog soon, that you see a real breeder.

What should I look for when looking for a dog?

The most important thing to look for is a breeder that does not breed often, and has few enough dogs in thier kennel to give the proper care and attention to each dog and puppy that is there. Avoid "puppy-mills", and ask lots of questions.

What sort of questions should I ask?

You should ask questions such as how often breeding takes place at the kennel, how many employees are there, how long they are in business, what associations and clubs are they a member of. Championship dogs in the Pedigree indicate that serveral judges have decided that the dog's ancesters look like that breed of dog. You may also want to ask what the temperment of the dogs are like.

Why do you have a website for your dog?

Actually we build websites and register domain names, but we also have a championship stud dog, and this site lets breeders get to know our dog better.

What is your dog worth?

We don't really value our dog as a commodity much like you would not value any person as a commodity (we hope). We do obedience training because the dog really enjoys it, and because it gives us a chance to spend time with him.

Why do you stud your dog?

We really believe that our dog would be a positive addition to the standard poodle breed. We would also like one of his offspring.

How often do you stud your dog?

We have still not yet had the opportunity. The genetic objectives of breeding are not to flood the breed with the dna of a few dogs, but to find a large variety of excellent and healthy dogs to strengthen the breed. We will probably breed not more than two or three times if even that.
